WWCC president announces 2008 retirement
Rock Springs____Western Wyoming Community College President Tex Boggs announced his retirement, effective June 30, 2008, during WednesdayÕs [April 11] meeting of the Board of Trustees.
ÒIt is not often that an individual has the opportunity to work in the perfect job. The boards I have served, the men and women with whom I have worked at the college, in Sweetwater County and across the state, and the Wyoming friends I have made during the past 19 years have made my job nearly perfect,Ó Boggs said in his announcement. ÒIt is now time for someone else to take the reins and lead the college to the next plateau. Therefore, it is with both regret and a sense of accomplishment that I announce my retirement, effective June 30, 2008.Ó
ÒI have chosen to make this announcement now in order to give the WWCC Board of Trustees the opportunity to conduct a full yearÕs search for a replacement. It is important for the institution to have sufficient time to identify my replacement wellbefore my retirement, thereby allowing that individual the opportunity to fulfill his or her contractual obligations,Ó Boggs said. ÒBy June 30 of next year, I will have completed 20 years of service as president of WWCC.Ó
